SO DREAMY!
More about this beautiful celebration:
‘Annie & Douglas got engaged on October 20th 2019 at the same church they would get married in less than a year later. Although covid19 tried its hardest to cancel their day, they were able to move forward as they originally planned. They had a Catholic wedding at St. Pius X Catholic Church and a vineyard reception on the most beautiful August evening at Lavender Crest.
Annie’s vision for the day was a “free & easy” summer wedding. She had her bridesmaids pick any dress they felt beautiful in that went with the neutral, blush, gold, & shimmery theme. The men wore navy tuxedos. They used Staacks floral for their flowers and chose natural, summer blooms surrounded by lots of greenery. Annie wanted eucalyptus in her bouquet because both her mother and mother-in-law had it in their bouquet for their weddings.
On wedding morning, the girls got ready at Revival Mane- a modern, urban-themed salon. They made their way to the church after hair and makeup. Annie wore a pearl bracelet that her grandma gave to her mother to wear on her wedding day. This was her “something borrowed.” Her “something blue” was a medal with Mary on it that she attached to the pearl bracelet. This belonged to her late grandfather. After putting on her dress, Annie and Doug met for a “first prayer.” They didn’t want to see each other, but wanted to hold hands around a pillar for a moment of prayer and peace before they met at the altar.
Annie & Douglas chose an organist, a vocalist, and a cello player for the wedding Mass music. Annie walked down the aisle with her father with her veil covering her face. She loved the idea of a traditional entrance. Another special detail of their ceremony was collecting flowers from their grandmothers and mothers to present to Mary. This is a Catholic tradition.
After the Mass, the wedding party took a party bus to the vineyard and enjoyed champagne, a lot of laughs, and some dancing.
The reception began with a cocktail hour and a time for guests to take a photo with the bride and groom outdoors. As guests entered, they got to see a “generations of love” display with photos of Annie’s and Doug’s family members over the years. Annie & Doug also used a polaroid guest book to enjoy seeing photos of their guests accompanied by a message. After the grand entrance wedding party congo line, everyone enjoyed dinner and a beautiful spread of pastries from Baked in the Village of East Davenport. Flowers were scattered in different sized vases on all tables at the reception, surrounded by many candles. Because their faith is so important to them, they chose different saints and placed their photographs and an explanation about their lives at each table. Their favors to their guests were chocolate candies in a decorative gold box with a miraculous medal tied to each one.
They had yard games outside they many of their guests enjoyed throughout the night, including a giant jenga game that their guests wrote messages to the couple on.
They left their dream wedding night with a sparkler exit.’
This is an EPIC dessert table! We’re loving the variety and all the fruit!
